Bill Reeder doesn’t want to take any chances on hiring and promotion. He wants just the right fit, and sometimes it takes an outside agent to ensure the connection is there. As president of Glenview, Illinois-based based Campus Cooks, which provides food to fraternities and sororities, Reeder relies on ProfileXT, a test of behavioral traits and thought styles. At $250 a pop, he says it is worth the investment.

“We’re just trying to increase the probability that someone will be successful,” he says. “This helps us to know, is he manageable? Is she going to follow rules? We want to make sure their behaviors match the traits we look for. This gives you a way to back up your gut.”
